Wedding Grazing Tables That Feel Like Part of the Celebration
Wedding food doesn’t have to arrive on a standard platter or feel separate from everything else you’ve spent months choosing.
A grazing table can become part of the room itself.
At UpNorth Social, we create wedding charcuterie and grazing spreads that are thoughtfully designed around the couple, the setting and the overall feel of the celebration.
That might mean soft florals and delicate details for a romantic garden-inspired wedding. Richer colors and natural elements for a fall celebration. Or something clean, modern and understated that lets beautiful ingredients speak for themselves.
No two weddings are the same, and we don’t think their grazing tables should be either.
It Starts With Your Wedding, Not a Standard Template
Before we start thinking about cheese or charcuterie, we want to understand what you’re creating.
What’s the overall style of the wedding?
What colors are you using?
What does the venue feel like?
Is the grazing table serving as cocktail-hour food, part of a larger menu or a more substantial food experience?
Those answers help shape everything from the ingredients we select to the way the finished spread is styled.
We can incorporate seasonal produce, fresh herbs, edible flowers and other finishing elements that complement the celebration rather than simply placing food on a table.
The result should feel like it belongs at your wedding.
The Difference Is in the Selections
A beautiful grazing table needs to taste every bit as good as it looks.
That’s why the quality of every selection matters. Our grazing tables begin with thoughtfully sourced artisan cheeses and premium cured meats, then build outward with seasonal produce, artisan crackers and breads, preserves, honeys, nuts, chocolates and other carefully chosen accompaniments.
For couples looking for an even more elevated experience, we can incorporate specialty and limited-availability cheeses and charcuterie, imported honeys, truffle flatbreads, small-batch preserves, premium chocolates, floral-printed macarons, lemon-honey shortbread, macadamia nuts, edible flowers, microgreens and other distinctive details.
Nothing is there simply to fill the table. The selections are chosen for quality, flavor, texture and how they work together as a whole.
The Little Details Can Make the Table
Some of our favorite grazing tables are the ones where the smallest elements make the biggest impression.
Think beautiful honey tucked beside an artisan cheese.
Lemon-honey shortbread cookies nestled into the spread.
Premium chocolate broken into shareable pieces.
Macadamia nuts and other specialty nuts adding richness and texture.
Floral-printed macarons that coordinate beautifully with a wedding’s color palette.
Fresh berries, herbs, microgreens and edible flowers woven throughout the table.
Interesting preserves and spreads that guests might not otherwise have tried.
These details are what take a grazing table from a lot of food on a table to something that feels intentionally curated.
Our current Signature-level offering, for example, builds beyond traditional charcuterie with specialty selections such as imported honey, truffle flatbread, small-batch preserves, specialty sweets and seasonal finishing elements.
And because every wedding is different, we can talk about which details make sense for yours rather than simply checking boxes from a list.
Come Taste Before the Wedding
Choosing wedding food from a description on a page can be difficult.
So we offer couples the opportunity to come in for a complimentary tasting by appointment.
This gives you a chance to experience the quality firsthand, try different combinations and talk through what you’re envisioning.
It’s also where we can start getting into the details.
Maybe there’s a cheese you absolutely love.
Maybe there’s one you absolutely don’t.
Maybe you want the spread to feel particularly colorful, seasonal or romantic.
Or perhaps you’re still figuring out what you want and would rather have us guide you.
The tasting helps turn an idea into something much more tangible.
Cocktail Hour or Something More Substantial?
This is an important distinction when planning wedding charcuterie.
If the grazing table is being served during cocktail hour before a full dinner, you may not need to provide charcuterie portions for every guest as though it were their meal.
If the grazing spread will play a larger role in the food experience, the quantity and variety need to reflect that.
We’ll talk through when the food is being served, what else you’re offering, your guest count and how people will move through the space before recommending what makes sense.
More isn’t automatically better.
The goal is to have the right amount of thoughtfully selected food for the role it’s actually playing in your wedding.
More Than Charcuterie, When You Need It
While grazing tables are a signature part of UpNorth Social catering, they don’t necessarily have to stand alone.
Depending on the event, we can also incorporate fresh salads and artisan sandwiches into the catering plan, including options such as our mini chicken salad croissants.
That can be especially useful for wedding weekends, bridal-party lunches or gatherings surrounding the wedding itself.
We don’t need to turn your grazing table into a buffet of everything we make. Sometimes the right answer is simply adding one or two complementary offerings that make the overall food plan work better.
What Our Couples Say
For one Nisswa wedding reception of approximately 200 guests, we created much more than one standard grazing table. The celebration included a large main charcuterie table, a specialty sweetheart board for the couple, a kid-friendly table and a separate meat-focused table.
Kelsey & Sam Klinger shared afterward:
“Everything was beautiful and elevated. Our guests complimented us on how great everything looked but tasted even better!”
— Kelsey & Sam Klinger
They also spoke to something that’s just as important to us as the finished table: the experience leading up to it.
“From start to finish everything she touched was so thoughtful and beautiful.”
— Kelsey & Sam Klinger
That is ultimately what we want our wedding catering to feel like. Thoughtful from the first tasting through the final setup, personal to the couple, and memorable for the guests who gather around it.
Wedding Catering Throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area
UpNorth Social is based in Crosslake, but our off-site catering travels throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area, making us a natural fit for weddings and wedding weekends in Nisswa, Crosslake, Breezy Point, Pequot Lakes and surrounding lake-country communities. Our current catering program includes delivery throughout the area, with fees outside Crosslake based on mileage.
Whether your wedding is at a venue, resort, lake property or another special setting, we’ll talk through the logistics as part of the planning process.
Let’s Create Something That Belongs at Your Wedding
Your grazing table shouldn’t look like something selected from a catalog.
Tell us about your wedding.
Your date. Venue. Guest count. Colors. Flowers. Overall style. The food you’re serving before and after it. The things you love and the things you don’t.
Then come taste with us.
We’ll use those details to create a grazing experience that’s beautiful, generous and thoughtfully connected to the celebration around it.
Because when you’ve put this much care into your wedding, the food should feel just as considered.
